1Q: What is Spandex?
A: Chemical fiber refers to those natural or synthetic high polymer as raw materials, through chemical processing to produce the fiber, it can be divided into artificial fiber and synthetic fiber two categories. There are two kinds of artificial fiber, that is, artificial cellulose fiber (such as viscotic fiber, rich fiber, etc.) and artificial protein fiber (such as soybean fiber, peanut fiber, etc.), and the camp of synthetic fiber is relatively large, polyester fiber (i.e., polyester), polyamide fiber (nylon 6, nylon 66, etc.), polyacrylonitrile fiber (acrylic fiber), Polyvinyl formaldehyde fiber (Vinylon), polypropylene fiber (polypropylene), polyvinyl chloride fiber (chlorylon), polyurethane fiber (spandex). Constituent material contains more than 85% of the components of polyurethane, trade name Lycra (Lycra, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada, Brazil), Neolon (Neolon, Japan), Dorlastan (Germany) and so on. It was first developed by Bayer in 1937 and successfully developed by DuPont in 1959. Dupont began industrial production and has sold its spandex industry to Koch Industries Group in 1959, with a total production capacity of about 100,000 tons. At present, the global total capacity of spandex is about 600,000 tons, while the capacity of South Korean Hyosung Company is close to 120,000 tons, becoming the world's first. The first spandex enterprise in China was Yantai Spandex Factory, which started production in 1989. The Chinese mainland has an existing production capacity of about 350,000 tons, making it the world's largest producer of spandex.
Spandex is generally not used on its own, but is incorporated into fabric in small amounts. This fiber has both rubber properties and fiber properties, most used in spandex core-cored yarn, known as elastic core-cored yarn, the main characteristics of this yarn, one is to get good feel and appearance, natural fiber composed of outer fiber moisture absorption; Second, only 1-10% spandex filament can produce high quality elastic yarn; Three is the elastic percentage control range from 10% to 20%, according to the use of the product, choose different elastic values. Also useful spandex naked silk and spandex and other fibers combined twisting twisted yarn, mainly used in various warp knitting, weft knitting fabrics, woven fabrics and elastic fabrics.
2Q: What is the test method?
A: One end of the tested sample is clamped on the upper gripper of the CRE type electronic single yarn strength meter, and the other end is clamped with the lower gripper after adding the pre-tension specified in the standard. At the same time, the sample is tensioned at a rate of 100% distance length (relative to the original length of the sample) until the sample breaks. The instrument can record the breaking strength, breaking elongation and other technical indicators of each test.
