What is single covered spandex yarn the features?

Spandex covered yarns are made of bare spandex covering with various filament yarns such as polyester, nylon, rayon, and so on. You can knit or weave spandex covered yarn into different types of fabric for the end product. The clothes with it are stretchable and the narrows with it are comfortable.

Spandex/elastane is drawn at a certain rate to desired length. Spandex is fed at a constant speed and then covered with hard yarn (polyester or nylon). Its characteristics, in particular elongation and elasticity depends on machine parameter of the draft as well as on the twist per metre and the hard yarn.

Since it combines two types of yarn, covered yarn enjoys the characteristics of outer yarn and core yarn simultanesously. Usually the knitting performance, handfeel, dyeing effect and final elasticity are the main parameters for the product.

Moisture-absorbing and quick-drying cotton-like yarn

Moisture-absorbing and quick-drying cotton-like yarn

Directly use high-power low-temperature plasma to bombard the fiber surface to produce physical modification (make fiber surface rough grooves and chemical modification (activated functional groups produce polar groups such as -OH, -COOH, -C=O) -OH, -COOH, -C=O and other polar groups are hydrophilic groups, the core functional groups for adding hydrophilic agents after finishing are OH and -COOH. We have essentially modified the molecular chains on the surface of the fiber to truly have long-lasting moisture absorption and quick-drying functions.

Plasma modified grafted antibacterial fiber technology

Plasma modified grafted antibacterial fiber technology

Plasma is the fourth state that exists in the universe besides solid, liquid, and gaseous states. It accounts for more than 99% of the total matter in the universe. The surface of the sun is full of plasma. It contains high-energy charged particles, which can be used for controlled nuclear fusion as clean energy by accelerating its temperature rise, and can be used for surface modification of polymer materials by cooling it down and decelerating it.

Splash-proof oil-repellent and easy-to-decontaminate new technology

Splash-proof, oil-repellent and easy-to-decontaminate new technology

Kangjiesi's three-proof fiber uses low-temperature plasma modification technology, which is a high-energy nuclear physics technology that bombards the fiber surface to obtain physical modification and chemical activation energy groups (such as -OH, COOH, C=O and other free radicals) After modification, the tetrafluoroethylene is also modified by low-temperature plasma and deposited on the surface of the fiber to promote a grafting reaction with the fiber molecules to form a fully integrated nanomembrane. The polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) on the surface of the fiber is baked at high temperature to produce countless bristles like a mace (a mace-structured anti-splash and anti-oil fiber ZL 201921110558. In addition, it has 5 related invention patents.

Antibacterial deodorizing technology

Antibacterial + deodorizing technology

Our deodorization technology is adsorption-reactive. The product has a microporous structure loaded with active groups. On the one hand, it absorbs odors, and on the other hand, it reacts to odor gases through the active groups.

What is the difference between single and double yarn?

Single-ply yarn is made using one long-staple cotton fibre to create a thread while two-ply yarns (or double-ply) refer to a yarn made with two threads of lower quality, shorter and weaker threads twisted together to make one thicker thread.

Spandex Covered Yarn Application

Spandex covered yarn is widely used in the knitting and weaving industries of narrows, intimate garments, swimming suits, sweaters, fashion cloths, jeans, shoe materials, hosiery and so on.

Covered spandex yarn is ideal for high-end thin wool, linen fabrics, jacquard double-layer weft knitted fabrics, and warp knitted fabrics.

CLASSIFICATION OF COVERED SPANDEX YARN

According to the number of coating layers, covered spandex yarn can be divided into two types: single-covered yarn (CCY) and double-covered yarn (DCY). Among them, nylon and polyester are mostly covered by single-wrap.

According to different equipment, covered spandex yarn can be divided into two types: Air-covered yarn (ACY) and Mechanically-covered yarn (SCY).

SINGLE-COVERED YARN (CCY) AND DOUBLE-COVERED YARN (DCY)

The single-covered yarn (CCY) is covered with a layer of nylon yarn on the outer layer of the spandex yarn. Its biggest disadvantage is that the core is more serious.

In the subsequent processing process, the exposed spandex yarn is easy to be worn by the machine parts and breaks; When heated, the color becomes yellow and sticky, and the strength decreases, and it shrinks to different degrees.

Double-covered yarn (DCY) is covered with two layers of nylon yarn on the outer layer of spandex yarn, and the directions of the two layers of covering are opposite.

The spandex core filaments are well covered, and the exposure is lighter, and because the nylon filaments wrap the core filaments symmetrically with opposite helix angles.

The elasticity of the wrapping yarn is well balanced, and generally, it can be processed in the subsequent process without shaping, but the processing cost of the double-covered yarn is relatively high.

AIR COVERED YARN (ACY) AND MECHANICALLY COVERED YARN (SCY).

Air-covered yarn ( ACY) is a yarn that draws the outer fiber filament and spandex yarn at the same time through a certain type of nozzle and is regularly sprayed by highly compressed air to form a rhythmic network point. Its fabric feels soft and smooth.

Mechanically covered yarn (SCY) is the continuous rotation of the outer fiber filament and winding it on the core yarn spandex drawn at a constant speed. With twist (English abbreviated as TPM), the fabric style is flat, and crisp is its main feature.

Single Covered Yarn FAQ

Q: What is the single yarn?

A: Single, or one-ply, yarns are single strands composed of fibres held together by at least a small amount of twist; or of filaments grouped together either with or without twist; or of narrow strips of material; or of single synthetic filaments extruded in sufficient thickness.

Q: What is single filament yarn?

A: A filament yarn is made of one or more continuous strands called filaments with each component filament running the whole length of the yarn. Those yarns composed of one filament are called monofilament yarns, and those containing more filaments are known as multifilament yarns.

Q: What is singles yarn good for?

A: Single ply yarn produces pleasantly round and plump stitches making it a perfect choice for all lace and textured stitch patterns.

Q: What are the cons of single ply yarn?

A: With a single ply yarn, manufacturers walk a tightrope between too much twist - leading to an 'unbalanced' yarn that might leave you with a biased piece of knitting - and too little twist, giving a yarn that breaks and pills easily.

Q: What is the difference between single and double yarn?

A: Single-ply yarn is made using one long-staple cotton fibre to create a thread while two-ply yarns (or double-ply) refer to a yarn made with two threads of lower quality, shorter and weaker threads twisted together to make one thicker thread.

Q: What is the difference between single yarn and piled yarn?

A: Single-ply yarn has a single twist in one direction and plied yarns have two twists, one to create the single (in one direction) and one to create the ply (in the opposite direction). These twists create shape and motion in the yarn and contribute to the look and performance of knitted fabric.

Q: What are the pros and cons of single ply yarn?

A: When different colors overlap, the saturation of the color could be compromised and the colors can look muddy from a distance. A singles yarn can have a smooth appearance. They're often softly spun, and give the fabric a soft appearance.

Q: What is the difference between sewing thread and single yarn?

A: Thread is a thin yarn used for sewing and embroidery, while yarn is a thicker, continuous strand of twisted natural or synthetic fibers used for knitting, weaving, and sewing. Thread is usually lighter and thinner than yarn, making it the perfect choice for delicate fabrics.

Q: How do you set singles yarn?

A: Set the twist in your singles as you would for a plied yarn: Wind the yarn around a niddy-noddy (or your arm, or the back of a chair -- whatever's handy) and put 4 figure-8 ties evenly spaced around it; more if you are worried about it getting messed up, such as with a very fine, high-twist yarn.

Q: Does single-ply yarn pill more?

A: This is due to the low amount of twist that is required for a single-ply yarn to hold its fibers together (but remember, this the same quality that makes it so lovely and soft), but this also accounts for the fact that single-ply yarns tend to pill more.

Q: What are the two basic types of yarn?

A: Two main categories of yarns are spun and filament yarn. The appearance, structure, and performance of these two types of yarns are vastly different. Spun yarn is formed from short, discrete fibers and includes materials such as cotton and wool.

Q: What is the difference between single yarn and ply yarn?

A: Single ply means that a single yarn is made into a thread which in turn is used to weave the fabric. In two-ply (or double ply), two single yarns are twisted together to make the resulting thread that is woven into the fabric. This gives the resulting fabric more strength, durability, bounce and wrinkle resistance.

Q: What are the 3 major yarn categories?

A: The three basic classifications of textile yarn include staple fiber yarn, which uses mostly short natural fibers to make yarn; ply yarns, which involve one or more strands of staple fiber yarn wound together; and filament yarn, which is wound from one or more long continuous filaments.

Q: What is single vs plied yarn?

A: The more plies, generally the stronger and more even your yarn will be. Those of you who have worked with singles (a single strand of yarn that may be twisted but is not plied with another yarn strand) will know that if you pull too tightly on the yarn that it will come apart.

Q: What is the difference between baby yarn and regular yarn?

A: The yarn will always be extremely soft and 100% itch-free, så it will not annoy your skin. Yarn made for babies is often made of the softest merino wool, cotton yarn blends, organic cotton or very soft acrylic fibers.

Q: What is the best yarn for stitching?

A: Most beginners should look for worsted-weight yarn, a medium-thickness yarn that makes it easy to see individual stitches. However, if you want your garment or item to take on a softer look, then a single-ply yarn is a better choice.
